It works with high-resolution images!
Virtix Zoom 1.x and Virtix Pan & Scan 1.x used normal television resolution images. This resulted in images that were a bit blurry when you zoomed in far enough. Virtix Zoom and Pan 3.0 now uses the full resolution of high-res still images, resulting in much sharper results.
It works with OS 9 and OS X!
Virtix Pan & Scan 1.x worked only under OS X. (OS 9 versions of iMovie did not have enough user interface controls to do a Pan & Scan) Virtix Zoom and Pan 3.0 contains an iMovie effect that pops up its own dialog box, so it is not subject to the limitations of iMovie.
It has a custom graphical user interface!
With Virtix Zoom and Pan 3.0, all you have to do is option-click on the effect in the iMovie effect palette, and a dialog box will pop up that will allow you control your motion as you scan across the image.
It works within iMovie!
Unlike other packages that require you to leave iMovie in order to convert a picture to a video, this new plugin package handles the whole process without leaving iMovie.

Virtix Zoom and Pan 3.0 contains one sophisticated zooming and panning effect that replaces the 10 effects in Pan & Scan 1.x and the 11 zooming effects in Zoom 1.x. This reduces the clutter in your iMovie effect menus.
It fully supports transparent images!
Virtix Pan & Zoom allows you to import images with an alpha mask. This allows you to import images that are transparent in parts or invisible in parts. Using this technique, you can import and superimpose images that appear to be non-rectangular.
It allows you to rotate while panning!
Virtix Zoom & Pan 3.0 allows you to specify an XY position, a magnification factor and an angle parameter at the beginning and end of the clip. This means you can move across, zoom into and rotate an image at the same time.
