Cross Dissolve
Cross Dissolve creates a gentle gradation from one input frame to the other. The resultant image is created by blending weighted values of the pixels taken from the two images.
Additive
The Additive fade type is created by adding the values of the pixels from the two input frames. As a result, the affected area tends to look brighter.
Black & White
The Black & White fade type is created by fading the two source pixels together and then fading the result towards its black and white value.
Negative
The Negative fade type is created by fading the two source pixels together and then fading the result towards its photo negative value.
Scatter
The Scatter fade type is created by randomly choosing one of the input pixels. This selection is weighted so that the one image seems to "break up" into the other image.

Color Fade...
When you select Color Fade, the Color button will become activated. Use this button to select the color for the color fade.

The Color fade type is created by fading the two source pixels together and weighting them towards the selected color. If the selected color is black, this effect is the same as a Cross Fade. Otherwise, the selected color seems to shine through.
