Median
The Median effect takes the image from the source clip and replaces each pixel with the most representative pixel in the neighborhood around that pixel.
Sliders
Radius - This controls the size of the neighborhood from which the median pixel will be selected. The larger this value, the smoother the video becomes.
Usage
The result of the median effect is to draw the pixels of the image in the source clip closer to the center value in any particular neighborhood. In this manner, the Median effect can be used to reduce small bright highlights, small dark spots and blown-out pixels on a camera.
With a small radius, Median can be used to fix grainy video. With a large radius, Median can be used to make an image look like a watercolor painting.
